Every watch that arrives at Kamol Timeworks follows the same initial path. We examine it under magnification, check the movement's condition, note the state of the case and crystal, and form a view on what the watch needs. That view is shared with the owner in writing before any work is started.
This first step is not billable unless the owner proceeds with a service. If you bring a watch for a look and decide not to proceed, there is no charge. We prefer this arrangement because it keeps us honest — our assessment should be worth something on its own terms, not a mechanism to lock in a commitment.
Diagnostic & Tune-Up
A sensible first step for a watch behaving oddly — losing time, running fast, stopping unexpectedly, or simply in need of routine attention. We begin with a careful diagnosis and, if the owner wishes, a full tune-up: the movement is disassembled, cleaned ultrasonically, lubricated with appropriate oils, and regulated to run within acceptable tolerances.
This service suits owners who are unsure what their watch needs and want an honest opinion before committing. There is no obligation once we share our findings. A service warranty applies to completed work.

Seal & Water Resistance Service
A practical service that restores the barriers keeping moisture and dust away from the movement. We replace the crown gasket, case back seal, and crystal gasket where applicable, then pressure-test resistance to the depth the watch was designed to handle — provided the case construction allows for it.
Particularly relevant for sports and dive-style watches, and for everyday pieces worn through Bangkok's rainy months and humid conditions. Any parts needed and the associated costs are confirmed with you before work begins.

Complete Antique Restoration
A thorough, patient restoration for antique watches — balancing functional repair with conservation so that age and authenticity are respected. The work may involve hand-fabricating scarce parts that are no longer obtainable, treating corrosion in the case and movement, conserving the original dial, and returning the movement to reliable daily function.
Each project begins with an unhurried assessment and a written summary of what we find and what the options are. The timeline is shaped by the condition and complexity of the piece — we don't apply an arbitrary deadline to irreplaceable work.

Movement-specific lubricants
We select oils and greases matched to the age, type, and condition of the movement — not a single product applied uniformly.
Secure watch custody
Every watch in our care is individually labelled, documented, and stored securely. We don't take on more work than we can manage responsibly.
Pre-work agreement in writing
No work is started without written agreement on scope and cost. If something changes once the movement is opened, we contact you before proceeding.
Post-service testing
Movements are timed on a timing machine after regulation; seals are pressure-tested where the design allows. We confirm acceptable performance before returning the watch.
Completion documentation
A written record of the work done accompanies every returned watch — useful for your own records, for insurance, or for any future servicing.
Service warranty
All completed work carries a service warranty. Its terms and period are provided in writing. If you have concerns after collection, we're glad to take another look.
